Different tours will be organized after the 46th IAH Congress. There are several alternatives depending on the planned duration.
More information will be available soon.
The first and most interesting proposal is a 4-days trip from Malaga to Madrid passing by Granada, Jaen, Ciudad Real and Toledo provinces, where we can find different aquifers used for water supply and agricultural activities, also for industry, and aquifers well connected with ecosystems (as Lagunas de Ruidera and Tablas de Daimiel wetlands). It will serve to showcase some management practices as well as existing problems under study.
The alternative are 2-day trips within the central Andalusia Region and surroundings.
- Ronda. Peridotitic rocks in Sierra Bermeja, Sierras Blanquilla y Merinos (carbonate massifs)- Ronda basin – hotel in Ronda city – Sierra de Libar mountain (karst springs and caves) – Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.
- Granada. Sierra Gorda de Loja carbonate mountain - Granada Basin – Sierra Nevada (low permeability rocks) – hotel in Granada city – Padul wetlands – Lanjarón – Beninar dam – Motril-Salobreña delta.
- Sevilla. Lucena area (evaporitic karst aquifer). Guadalquivir basin (river, dams, wetlands), hotel in Sevilla city, Mining activities, Doñana National Park (wetlands).
